Viziscience Privacy Policy
Overview
Viziscience values your privacy and is dedicated to protecting our children and students. We take privacy very seriously and are committed to creating a safe, secure online environment.
We aim to collect the minimum amount of personal information (“PI”) and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.
We aim to provide you with adequate access & control over the information you provide and we will delete your personal information from our servers on request. If we are asked to delete PI this will however result in account cancellation.
We actively take steps to ensure active parental (or guardian) consent for younger members and do not knowingly store any personal information for children under the age of 13. In the event we learn that we have collected personal information (as defined by applicable law) without the required consent, or of a child less than 13 years of age we will take reasonable steps to delete such information and disable any associated membership accounts.
Users can visit our site anonymously but have to provide some personal information in order to register.
Information we collect
When you register for membership, you may provide to Viziscience with personally identifiable information (“PII”) or “personal data”.
Information we obtain during the membership sign up process may include but not be limited to the following:-
First Name
Last Name
Email
Registration, placing an order, subscription, other communication
Customer Paypal name (provided by Paypal at point of sale)
Details of requested membership including number of licenses and durations
Over 13 age confirmation (using check box only)
Over 18 age confirmation (using check box only)
Parental contact information for 13-17 year olds
Parental consent verification
In order to manage membership licensing, operate Viziscience effectively and help us to improve our products and services, we track on-line activity and may include the following types of data in our tracking:-
Computer IP Address
Activity whilst logged in
Number of concurrent sessions
Users are able to update their personal information and log in credentials using in-site profile and account settings.
We may also collect usage information about your use of certain features on Viziscience, such as the number of videos you have viewed, and the amount of time spent ton a certain topic, etc. This enables us to better tailor educational experiences that are most appropriate for you.
We make available certain features that allow other users to provide us information about you. This information may include personal information. Generally, this occurs when parents or teachers provide information relating to a child. For example, a parent may register an account for their child and provide us with certain information, such as the child’s user name and other information.
When you log in to your Viziscience account we typically track the following data:-
Page URL
Page title
Referrer
User agent
IP address
Language
Screen resolution
Tracking cookie
x/y coordinates of mouse events (for generating heat maps)
You may be able to change the settings on your computer or mobile device to prevent it from providing us with any location information.
Why we collect information
The information we collect is primarily to help us operate Viziscience, control user access, process orders and help us to improve our products and services, to provide you with a better learning experience. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising.
The information we collect may also be used to:-
send information to customers, respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions;
send information and updates pertaining to orders
send additional information related Agreed Services from time to time
market to our mailing list or continue to send emails to our clients after the original transaction has occurred
If you have provided us with consent, we may use the information we collect to offer you new services or specific content that might me useful to you.
We also want to understand and analyze usage trends, learning behaviors, and preferences of our users, to improve the way Viziscience works and looks, and to create new features and functionality.
How we collect information
We use reputable third party plugins
We fully aim to honor “Do Not Track” signals and Do Not Track or plant cookies, or use advertising when a Do Not Track (DNT) browser mechanism is in place.
An external PCI compliant payment gateway handles all CC transactions (currently Paypal). We do not collect or store credit card information on our servers.
Advertising & Third Parties
We do not have third party advertising on Viziscience.
We may use a variety of third-party service providers, such as YouTube to host our videos or Google Analytics to understand our Website usage. We may allow third-party service providers to place and read their own cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information through the website.
Signing up for membership is not available through Facebook or other third parties and any information provided by you is only available to Viziscience or it’s assigns (that have been carefully vetted).
We do not currently enable users to connect social media accounts or networks to Viziscience.
We do not currently share information with third-party application developers.
Cookies
Viziscience website uses reputable third party plugins to plant cookies, tracking pixels and related technologies. Cookies are small data files that are served by our platform and stored on your device. Our site uses cookies dropped by us or third parties for a variety of purposes including to operate and personalize the website, for example to help remember and process the items in your shopping cart.
We do not retarget or track how you use the site to target ads to you on other websites.
If users disable cookies in their browsers it should not typically affect user experience.
Third party disclosure – we do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties Personally Identifiable Information unless we provide users with advance notice. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release information when it’s release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property or safety.
What we do with the data we collect
Google Analytics – us and third-party vendors, such as Google collect Demographics and Interests, to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions and other ad service functions as they relate to our website
We only use Personal Information as needed for the purposes for which it was collected or where you have consented to our use of Personal Information relating to you. We take reasonable steps to ensure that the Personal Information we store and use is accurate, complete, and up-to-date. If you discover that Personal Information or other data pertaining to you is inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date, please update your account information or contact us as outlined below.
We may disclose automatically collected and other aggregate non-Personal Information to authorized business partners to conduct research on online education or assist in understanding the usage, viewing, and demographic patterns for certain programs, content, services, promotions, and/or functionality.
We may also disclose user information if required to do so by law, or if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with local, state, federal, international, or other applicable laws (such as U.S. Copyright law) or respond to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena, or warrant, or administrative request. In some cases, we may make such disclosures without first providing notice to Users.
Your Personal Information may be shared with Viziscience employees, its agents and contractors that have a legitimate business reason to access such data.
Data security, accuracy and retention
To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting you membership access or making corrections to your information. For example, we may ask you to provide certain Personal Information to confirm your identity, and we may require that you create and use a password to access certain parts of your account. You should create and maintain a strong password to help ensure the security of your account.
We take security very seriously and use technologies and protocols to protect your Personal Information. However, we cannot comprehensively ensure or warrant the security of any or all of the information you provide to us, and therefore any information you provide is done so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission of information, Viziscience uses commercially reasonable efforts to protect the security of our systems. When you enter sensitive information, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL) or similar technologies. However, this is not a guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
Unless we receive a deletion request, we will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as is reasonably useful for operational purposes.
We want you to have access to your information, so that you can help keep it as accurate as possible. If you register and provide Viziscience with Personal Information, you may update, or correct your account and information at any time by reviewing your account profile information. If you wish to delete your account or your child’s account or experience any difficulties, please contact us to request assistance.
Data Breach
In the event of a data breach we will attempt to notify affected users via email within 7 business days, in line with the requirements of Fair Information Practices.
If we learn of a data security incident that compromises or appears to compromise your Personal Information, then we will attempt to notify you so that you can take appropriate protective steps. We may also post a notice on website if a significant incident occurs.
Policy Changes
Users will be notified of any privacy policy changes on our Privacy Policy if they have signed up for our newsletter. If you have not subscribed to the newsletter, please ensure that you check our Privacy Policy for revisions or changes that might affect you.
CAN-SPAN Act 2003
We support and adhere to the principles of the CAN-SPAM Act and will:-

include the physical address of our business or site headquarters.
monitor third-party email marketing services for compliance, if we decide to use one

Your choice
You may always decline to share your Personal Information with us. However if you decline to register, Viziscience will not be able to provide to you certain features and functionalities available to other members. You may later enable or access those features by providing Viziscience with the necessary Personal Information.
California Children’s Privacy Rights
If you are under the age of 18, or the parent (or legal guardian) of a user under the age of 18, residing in California, you are entitled to request removal of associated content or information posted on Viziscience. If you would like to remove your or your child’s content or information, please contact us for assistance, or you can delete specific information from your profile (or request us to delete your or your child’s membership account). Please note that removal of your content or information does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal, as there may be de-identified or recoverable elements of your content or information on different servers in some form. Additionally, we will not remove content or information that we may be required to retain under applicable federal and state laws.
